Notes:
Highland Bold is a style of breakfast black tea. Like English or Irish Breakfast tea, this tea is a blend of black teas from different regions, and is defined by its character and wood notes. Highland Bold is more full-bodied, strong, and of course, bold in flavor, more so than traditional English and Irish breakfast teas. Highland Bold also has a nice smokiness and wood notes in the aroma, although the degree of smokiness can vary.
This tea is like a proper Scottish Highlander: Bold, Stout, and Malty (not unlike a good Scotch). Highlander's wanted a good kickstart to their day and liked their tea very strong, they also loved a hint of wood or cask oak to remind them of their own clan's drink of choice - Scotch. This blend consists of 2nd Flush Assam tea (thick, robust with delicious malt notes); Southern Indian tea (highland mountain grown that has wonderful flavor notes which bring out the character of the robust Assam); Keemun Panda tea which has a delicious wine-like character further enhancing the stout malty character of the blend and finally a Chingwo County Orange Pekoe which gives the blend it's distinct oak character. This tea is especially delicious if you enjoy milk or cream in your tea, which further lends a malty character to the tea and highlights the brightness of the premium black teas.
